Praying the Angelus by Jared Dees ~ Dees introduces the Angelus devotion and explores its rich history and significance for the Church. We find lessons about the power of repetitive prayer, the humility of being a disciple, the importance of admitting time belongs to God, the wisdom of taking time with discernment, and the joy of resting in the Lord's presence. He shares personal stories of the life-change power of the Angelus and guides both newcomers and those already familiar with the prayer to contemplate

Let There Be No Divisions Among You ~ Why All Christians Should be Catholic
by Rev. John MacLaughlin
With clear, compelling logic bolstered by countless Scriptural confirmations, Fr. John MacLaughlin here considers the oft-heard claim that it doesn't matter what Christian denomination you join, so long as you're sincere. Formally known as Indifferentism, this view has in recent centuries taken deep root among Christians. Indeed, indifferentism is the enemy not only of Protestantism and Catholicism, but of Christ
Himself, who revealed to His apostles scores of truths about Himself and the way of salvation, never encouraging them to pick and choose among those truths. Not only then, argues Fr. MacLaughlin,
is one Christian denomination not as good as another; embracing the wrong one can lead
a good-hearted soul into utter unbelief, jeopardizing his salvation. For this reason, Fr. MacLaughlin devotes the second half of this immensely popular book to delineating for readers the two fundamental characteristics that will ever and always be found in the one Church that Christ founded and to which he intends all men and women to belong.

How God Hauled Me Kicking and Screaming Into the Catholic Church by Kevin Lowry
A preacher's kid at a Catholic university, Kevin Lowry settled into a double major in beer and billiards soon followed by uncomfortable run-ins with pious students, failing grades, increasing anxiety, a missing night and the startling realization that some fellow students actually attended Mass the morning after a party instead of sleeping it off. After getting kicked out, Kevin got his act together, got the MBA, and also got the girl. Meanwhile God was working, drawing him to the inevitable conclusion that Catholicism was all true despite his objections. Kevin Lowry's journey to Catholicism is fascinating, often funny, and demonstrates God's unfailing, patient love for all of us.

Cinderella is a 2015 romantic fantasy film (non-animated), directed by Kenneth Branagh, and screenplay written by Chris Weitz.
“Have Courage and Be Kind.” was the message passed on to Cinderella by her mother.
Editor’s Pick: Starting off this new year, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite movies; Disney’s new version of Cinderella. Leave it to Disney once again to portray such a good morale message. The movie doesn't explain how Ella is able to perform the feat of maintaining kindness in the face of such mistreatment, but she does. At the movie’s, you will be in awe of how Cinderella truly demonstrates love and mercy. I like to remind myself daily to “Have Courage and Be Kind.” It is not always easy, but we can try to see the world, not always as it is, but how it could be.
New Year’s Resolution: Will you join me and have courage and be kind no matter what the situation?

The Little Book of Holy Gratitude by Fr. Frederick Faber Sharp penance for remembered sins helps stouthearted Christians seize heaven, but gentler souls like Our Blessed Lady and scores of her saints have trod a different path. Their souls are possessed by gratitude, inspired by the remembrance of past benefits, and filled with wonder at the abundant loving-kindness of God. As Fr. Faber shows, gratitude
is the fertile soil from which springs an ardent, exuberant love of Christ a love that can be yours as well. These wise pages reveal the critical role that gratitude plays in your sanctification, and they'll remind you of the many things the Lord has given you for which you should be grateful each moment of every day.

The Creed: Professing the Faith Through the Ages by Scott Hahn
Why were the early Christians willing to die to protect a single iota of the creed? Why have the Judeans, Romans, and Persians - among others - seen the Christian creed as a threat to the established social order? In The Creed: Professing the Faith Through the Ages, bestselling author Dr. Scott Hahn recovers and conveys the creed’s revolutionary character. Tracing the development of the first formulations of faith in the early Church through later ecumenical councils, The Creed tells the story of how the very profession of our belief in Christ fashions us for heavenly life as we live out our earthly days.

could ever speak.

7 Secrets of Divine Mercy by Vinny Flynn Through his "secrets" of Divine Mercy, Vinny shows how Divine Mercy is not just another worthy "private devotion"; it is the key devotion, the umbrella devotion over everything else. Every other devotion in the Church, every ritual, every activity, every teaching is under that umbrella of Divine Mercy. It's all there to help us understand and enter into Divine Mercy. He shows us how everything in our lives can become more meaningful, more powerful, more life-changing once we really embrace the gift of Divine Mercy-the overflow of love from the Holy Trinity. compelling and timely book, Flynn draws from Scripture, the teachings of the Church, and the Diary of St. Faustina to not only reveal the heart of Divine Mercy, but to offer you an invitation and a road map so that this mercy can transform your life. If you're not yet convinced of the impact Divine Mercy can have on your life,
if you've never heard of this message and devotion, or if you're curious to learn more about it, this book is perfect for you. It shows us all how to respond to the call of Pope Francis "to live lives shaped by mercy", and benefit greatly from the "Year of Mercy".

In Heaven We’ll Meet Again by Fr. François René Blot, S.J.
Are loved ones reunited in Heaven? The saints say Absolutely!
In wise and consoling letters written to a mother sorrowing over the death of her child, Fr. François René Blot, S.J., here summons the Church’s greatest saints who testify with one voice that death’s wound, though grievous, separates us but for a short while from those who die before us. Acknowledging that
profound sorrow at the death of loved ones is appropriate (after all, even Jesus wept for the death of his friend Lazarus), Fr. Blot nonetheless gives us reason to be joyful even in the midst of our sorrow: in heaven our loves and friendships will finally be free of the many hindrances small and large that keep them from being perfect in this life. Moreover, the saints say, in heaven we will love and know the love of countless souls we never met on earth, our Guardian Angel, and all the choirs of angels! Soon after it was written, a Catholic Cardinal called this book a pearl set in the fine gold of the doctrine of the Fathers and a newspaper declared that it deserves a distinguished place in all Christian libraries and should be on the table of every pious family that faithfully preserves the memory of its deceased members. Let the saints' testimony in these beautiful pages assuage your grief and renew your hope! Let them increase your gratitude for the sacrifice of Christ whose death on the Cross opened heaven for us, and made these heavenly reunions possible!

Offering of Suffering by Paul A. Mihalik
A sense of joy is found in the overcoming of the sense of uselessness of suffering. A feeling that is sometimes very strongly rooted in human suffering. This feeling not only consumes the person interiorly, but seems to make him a burden to others. The person feels condemned to receive help and assistance from others and seems useless to himself. The discovery of the salvific meaning of suffering in union with Christ transforms this depressing feeling. Faith in sharing in the suffering of Christ brings with it the certainty that the suffering person "completes what is lacking in Christ's afflictions; the certainty that in the spiritual dimension of the work of redemption he is serving, like Christ, in the spiritual salvation of his brothers and sisters. Therefore, he is carrying out an irreplaceable service." - Pope John Paul II

Jesus Calling is a devotional filled with uniquely inspired treasures from heaven for every day of the year. She knew her writings were not inspired as Scripture is, but journaling helped her grow closer to God. They are written from Jesus' point of view. It is Sarah's fervent prayer that our Savior may bless readers with His presence and His peace in ever deeper measure.

Relics from the Crucifixion (Where they went and how they got there) by J. Charles Wall
The Jews usually burned the crosses used by the Romans after executions but following Jesus' crucifixion they quickly threw the Cross in a ditch to get it out of sight before the feast of Passover. That preserved the True Cross, and memory of the events preserved its location. Disgusted with continued Christian veneration of the spot, pagan Roman Emperor Hadrian erected on the Cross's burial site a statue to Venus, hoping thereby to obliterate their memory. It didn't work.Indeed, because of the statue, when the Empire became Christian, St. Helena knew the exact spot where she would find the very Cross on which Christ died. All relics from Christ's crucifixion have a similarly fascinating story, all of which are told here in this 1910 work by the enterprising Catholic investigator J. Charles Wall.

Meditation: Tell [all people], My daughter, that I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls (Diary, 1074).
Prayer Response: Jesus, You are Love and Mercy itself. I trust in You! Fill me with so much grace that it radiates out to others. May I be a channel for Your mercy, a means of grace for others.
